On the mountain

We now have been up to the mountain two days. Monday the weather wasn't so good. It was really windy and the snow was kind of icy. Isn't this what we have at Mt. Hood? It was still so amazing! The mountain is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. Tuesday the weather was superb. We had good snow, especially the upper half of the mountain. It snowed all day today, which I am totally fine with. There is a new storm on its way and should dump a lot of new powder! I am very sore tonight, I hope I can continue to ski the rest of week, the legs are hurting.

Here is the picture I tried to upload earlier. This picture is of a resevoir on the boarder of Idaho and Wyoming. The whole lake is frozen over. Isn't it beautiful!

We made it (version 2)

Blogger was freezing so I had to make a version 2.

On our way through the Tetons we saw some really beautiful scenery. This picture is of a frozen resevoire on the snake river at the border of Idaho and Wyoming. (This won't publish, I will try later)


Here is our condo, I thought I rotated it, but oh well, sorry.


This picture is of where we ate breakfast. The funny part is we have breakfast included in our package at our condo. So we ventured out Monday morning for breakfast and found this location (Amangani - http://www.amanresorts.com/home.aspx?id=290) instead of our restaurant The Granary. We sat down to eat and we kept thinking "Wow this is really nice". During our breakfast the waiter came over and asked us for our name so they could charge it to the room, well they didn't have our name so we had to pay for our breakfast. Luckily it wasn't too bad - $20.00. I guess this is where people like Penelope Cruz stay. It shares the same driveway as our resort.

We made it!

We made it to Jackson Hole safe and sound. The drive was actually really nice. The roads were clear and dry until we made it to Jackson. We left Saturday night and drove to Ontario, Oregon and spent the night in a hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Here are a few pics of our drive to Jackson.

This weekend I am going to Jackson, Jackson Hole that is. I can't wait! Needless to say my mind is elsewhere this week. Here are some pictures showing what I am going to be seeing next week! I feel like a kid leading up to Christmas.

The Decemberists

Last night we (Merilee, myself and my niece Catie) went to the Decemberists concert. It was a great concert. However, I am seriously paying for it today. My legs ache from standing for 3+ hours. The opening band Psuedosix was a little too mellow for a show starting at 9:00 pm. That could be that I am just getting old!
The Decemberists show started a little slow. I didn't even recognize any of the first 8 songs. Halfway through the show it turned. The energy started coming, the music started beating faster, the crowd started moving - that's when it started for me.

Turned out to be a great show, they played for 1:50 minutes. There is not much better then going to bed with that ringing in your ears. I love it!

Basketball

Tonight I have basketball practice with Mason's 4th grade team. I have volunteered to coach his team and I really love it. I enjoy watching the kids progress throughout the season. What I enjoy most about it though is spending time with my kids. I have coached each one of them and I love it. Even if I don't know much about the sport I really enjoy interacting with the kids. Does this mean that I am at the same intellectual level as 4th graders? Merilee - don't answer that!

Anyway, here is to another season of basketball. I hope I am not too tough on the kids. The first practice we ran suicides and I think I got a few evil eye stares from some parents. We will be running again tonight so they better get used to it! The downpart of me coaching my kids is that I think I may be too hard on them. I am sorry Boston, Mason and Sid. I love you guys!
